Hampton's Open Letter To Sen. Joe Lieberman

Please read the letter that the Hampton Democratic Town Committee has written to Sen. Joseph Lieberman. This letter urges Sen. Lieberman to end his spoiler independent/third party bid for the US Senate after losing the Democratic Primary.

CT is one of five States that allows a candidate to continue on after losing a Primary. Most other States require that a candidate respect the primary process or run as an independent, not both. By running after a primary Senator Lieberman has wasted the time, efforts, and money of Connecticut’s Democrats and completely negated the Primary process.

The LIttle Town That Did! How Hampton Beat all Records!

A Report on the Primary of 2006

Secretary of State Suan Bysewicz said that she expected no more that 35-40% of voters to turnout on Primary Day, especially in an off year elction. Hampton’s Democrats defied that prediction, with over 63% of all registered Democrats voting in the Primary, many newly made from previously being Unaffiliated.

Registrar of Voters Dayna McDermott said that the polls were busy most of the day, and unofficial checkers from the Town Committee found that many were there to support newcomer Ned Lamont for Senate.

Web Master's Statement

Welcome to the new web home of the Hampton Democratic Town committee.

I hope that you will see this space as our virtual commons and not just another billboard site promoting the “old guys” in office. Hampton is a unique and different place from anywhere else I have lived. I truly believe this. We are a strong and thriving community despite or even perhaps because of our small numbers. I have never felt more welcome and I have never been as appreciative of my neighbors and friends as I am now in Hampton.
