am a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After a tour of Naval duty, I worked at Gemini and Tyler Graphics with some of the legendary artists of the modern-art movement as their proofer and print maker.

My wife, Barbara Andersen, and I moved to Hampton about 3 years ago. I had just finished a 25-year career in Hollywood as a set builder, miniature model maker, and special-effects producer... and, she had just finished a 35-year career as a Creative Director for several leading Connecticut and New York consumer-marketing firms. It took about 2 minutes to commit to what we wanted to do in retirement, since we both shared the same dream of running a small farm! With the help of an excellent Realtor, we found what we were looking for and the move was on!

We have restored the old stone house that Edson Stocking built in 1947, as well as cleared the surrounding pastures and orchard areas. We have weatherproofed the newer barn and outbuildings, so they are safe and dry for our workshop, studios, and livestock. It has been hard work -- since we are 'do-it-yourselfers' -- but our efforts have been rewarded many times over. We only use earth-friendly practices to raise our livestock, vegetables, and fruits. We are members of NOFA and plan to be 100% solar powered within a year.
